| Step 12 Text Select your text tool. In your color palette, click on the arrow to make your foreground color to your background color and turn the foreground color off (click on the O with the line through it) (it's best to do this after selecting the type tool, as when you select it, it may change the color palette to what it was at last time you used it) Set your mode to vector, stroke set to 0, and with a pretty font, type your name, font size set so it will fit on the scrap tag. (I used Turbayne Running Hand, size 30) Right click in your layer palette, and click on Convert to raster layer. Move it onto the scrap tag. Image>Rotate>Free rotate 90 degrees left I used a drop shadow, but you don't have to. Mine was 1-1-80-1-black Layers>Merge visible Resize and add your watermark before adding the animated bling. Save as a psp or psd file if adding the bling. You can save as a gif or a jpg now if you are not adding the bling. |
| Step 13 Animation-Adding an animated bling 1. Open your tag and your bling in Animation Shop If you are adding the bling, copy your tag Open Animation Shop Edit>Paste as new image. Alternately, you can open your psp or psd file from within Animation Shop. 2. Count the frames in the bling Open the bling that you have chosen and count how many frames it has. If your bling has a black or colored frame for the first one, delete it, it's not needed The bling I used had 21 frames. If your bling is too large, you can resize it by going to Animation>Resize 3. Duplicate your tag frames to equal the bling frames Return to your tag and duplicate so you have the same number of frames as the bling On first frame of tag, Control-A to select all. You will see a blue frame around it, Control-C to copy, Now hit Control-Shift-L to duplicate the frame after the first frame, do this a few times till you get 11, now Control-A to select all frames, Control-C to copy and Control-Shift-L to paste all 11 frames at once, you will now have 22 frames. Go to the last one, right click and delete it. You will now have 21 frames, same as the bling. 4. Copy the bling frames Return to the bling, making sure you're in first frame, Select all (Control-A), Edit>Copy (Control-C) 5. Paste the bling frames into your tag frames Return to your tag frames. Making sure you're in the first frame, select all (Control-A) Edit>Paste into selected frame (Control-E). You will see a small piece of the bling, the first part of it from the first frame, it will not paste down till you hit the left mouse button, so first move to where it appeals to you, then click the left mouse button to paste it down. 6. View animation to see if you like it Now go to View>Animation to see if you like the effect. If not, go to Edit>Undo paste to undo it and try again. 7. Reverse and mirror bling frames, then paste into tag frames again I used 2 of the same animation but reversed and mirrored the effect on the second one. To do this, with the bling frames selected, go to Animation>Reverse Frames, then Animation>Mirror, and then repeat the copy and paste into the tag frames as before. I used the original format of the bling in the bottom right. After reversing and mirroring, I used that one in the top left. Go to File>Save as and save as a GIF I used the default settings, just kept hitting next, till done. |

Resizing To resize, make sure, to retain the texture and the clarity, resize at 90% bicubic and repeat till you get close to the size you want. At that point you can resize by pixels as usual. You will find this makes a big difference in your final result. If you resize, use the unsharp mask or Brightness/Contrast to sharpen it a bit. Adjust>Sharpness>Unsharp mask at Radius 1, strength 60, clipping 4 or Adjust>Brightness and Contrast set to Brightness of 5-contrast of 15. Either resize before you add the bling in PSP, or resize in Animation Shop after adding the bling, by going to Animation>Resize Animation If it's quite a large size difference, I like to resize in PSP first so I can use Unsharp Mask and make it look better at the resized size before animating. |
