For this tutorial you
will need: Adobe Photoshop Elements OR Adobe Photoshop I've done this tutorial in Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS2 I believe it can be done in most versions. You may have to look around for the commands but it's likely they are there. Filters and materials needed Funhouse - ZigZaggerate and Xaggerate FM Tile tools - Blend Emboss Simple - Four Way Average Graphic Plus - Cross Shadow Penta.com - VTR 2 Bordermania Eye Candy 3.1 Scribe - Super Emboss Supplies in zip file here http://www.ellies-treasures.com/files/tuts/don't-love-one-pi-ps-material.zip The material has been prepared so that you can open it with different versions of the program. I am assuming you know the basics of Photoshop/Photoshop Elements and where the tools can be located. My filter windows may look different from yours as I use Filters Unlimited 2 to manage my filters. |
1. Open the gradient canvas supplied in the Materials zip file.
2. Fill your canvas with the gradient. Go to Adjust>Blur>Gaussian blur set at 45. It should look like this now.
3. Effects>Funhouse - ZigZaggerate at default of 60-60 Effects>Simple - 4way average Effects>Edge Effects>Enhance more Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen Filter>Scribe>Super Emboss>45-127-127-132-135 Filter>FM Tile tools>Blend Emboss> Effect>Graphic Plus - Cross-Shadow-default except for Vertical and Intensity 35 and Brightness on 67 If you are using Filters Unlimited (a filter manager) as I do, if you hold the Alt key down while clicking Apply you can do multiple filters without it closing down between each one.
4. Open and Copy (Control-A then Control-C) marif misteddecor0100 and paste as new layer (control-V) Move it to bottom right as shown, partially off the canvas Change blend mode to luminosity and the opacity to 26
5. Open and Copy marif misted fleurs and paste into canvas Move this right above the angle as shown Change blend mode to luminosity and the opacity to 20
6. Open and copy marif misted face and paste into canvas Move it to the left side as shown Blend mode on hard light and opacity at 73 Filter>FM Tile tools>Blend Emboss at default
7. In Photoshop Elements Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust color for skin tone When that window opens, when you move your cursor out of it an eyedropper will appear. Click on a point on the lighter part of her cheek as shown. If it looks ok, click ok, if not move the sliders around a bit to get the effect you want. In Photoshop: Filter>Noise>Reduce Noise, set strength at 10 and the other two at 0,Sharpen Details at 50%). Yours should now look like this
8. new raster layer Open the words canvas and copy and paste them into the tag canvas. Apply in the spot shown. In Photoshop Elements Styles palette>Layer Styles>Drop Shadows, click on Low Go to Layer>Layer Style>Style Settings and change the settings to 3-2-100, black, angle at 30. In Photoshop Layer>Layer Style>Drop Shadow, settings multiply, black, 75%, angle 120, use global light checked; 3-0-3, the rest at default Merge all layers If you want your tag to be 600 px width then reduce the size to 540 pix wide because a frame of approximately 63 pixels will be added The tag part is now done, we'll add the frame next. Duplicate the tag and minimize one copy.
9. Image (in PS it's Edit)>Copy Selections>Select all Filter>Bordermania>3D BW Sunken #2, border width at 0 Select none. Flatten image.

Keep the anchor in the middle. Pick your color. Expand Canvas 1 pixel # 5e462a Right click in layer palette and make background into a layer Now make a new layer by clicking on the little icon at top left, under the word Normal (In PS it's at the bottom of the layer palette). pull it beneath the other one. Stay in that layer. Expand Canvas 15 pixels it will be a transparent border Copy your duplicated image and back in your tag canvas Edit>Paste It will look like nothing happened but your layer is in behind the other one. Click the eye in the layer palette for the top layer to turn it off. Go to Image>Resize>Scale (in PS it's Edit>Transform>Scale) and pull the boxes so the canvas is filled right to the edges. Hold down the control key while pulling the boxes to resize evenly. You may have to pull at the top and bottom boxes a bit to get the top and bottom right to the edges. Don't worry if it deforms the picture a bit. Click on the checkmark. In PSE it's right in the canvas, in PS it's in the toolbar. Turn the top layer back on. |
11. Adjust (in PS it's Filter)>Blur>Gaussian Blur set at 30 Filter>Funhouse>ZigZaggerate 60-60 Filter>Funhouse>Xaggerate - 24-24 Filter>Simple 4 way average Filter>Scribe>Super Emboss>0-128-128-147-145 PSE: Enhance>Auto Sharpen. PS: Filter>Sharpen>Sharpen Flatten image.
