For this tutorial you will
need: Jasc or Corel Paint Shop Pro - I've done this tutorial in PSP 9 and PSP XI. I believe it can be done in most versions - You may have to look around for the commands but it's likely they are there. Filters and materials needed Xenofex 1 Supplies in zip file here http://www.ellies-treasures.com/files/tuts/scrap-flower-supplies-psp.zip Supplies in zip file here for older versions if the other ones don't work for you. These are in psd format. http://www.ellies-treasures.com/files/tuts/scrap-flower-supplies-psd.zip I changed the .pspgradient file to a .jgd file. I understand this makes them usable in earlier version of PSP. Credits: Tubes by Patry and Ivy |
Preparation Open your tubes, duplicate them (shift-D) and close the originals. I always open all of my tubes and close as I use them The tubes used more than once here are the hearts and the lilies. You can close the others after using. I also keep a copy of the tag example open to refer to. Save mine from the top of the page and keep it open if you would like to do this.
1. Open the picture "floral350px.jpg" and resize it to a width of 350 px bicubic (I like to use Smart Size as well, compare and see which way you like best) Image>Add Borders- a symmetrical border of 1 in this color #615284 (dark purple) Now add a border of 10 px in a contrasting color and with the magic wand (tolerance at 0) select this border
2. Set your foreground color to the gradient "SK_Blum" with these settings: Angle 0, repeats 3, style right thumbnail (Radial) Now fill your selected edge with your flood fill tool. Deselect.
3. Add again an edge with 1 in the color #615284 Right click in layer palette and promote background layer
4. Right click in layer palette, new raster layer. Pull this down in the layer palette below the converted background layer. Image>canvas size at these settings: 600-450, leave the arrow in the middle (default) so it expands evenly all around. Fill with the gradient.

6. New raster layer (this should be above your blinds layer and under your graphic layer), Selections>select all (control-A) Selections>Modify>Contract by 40 pixels Fill with the gradient at these settings: Angle 0, repeats 7, style right thumbnail as before.
