See the original tutorial here for PSP in Dutch

This version has all of the screenshots but no backgrounds, etc. and a smaller font.

This version is like above but has no screenshots, only a small header at the top for an example.
This will take much less paper. The settings are shown as text instead of screenshots.

They will both open in a new window and print out on standard 8½" X 11" paper

For information about which fonts, programs, etc I used to construct my pages and my headers, click here.
For this tutorial you will need:
   or
I've done this tutorial in PSP 9 and PSP XI.
I believe it can be done in most versions.
You may have to look around for the commands but it's likely they are there.

Filters and materials needed
FM Tile Tools / Blend Emboss, free here (it's a trial version but blend emboss is one that keeps working)
Supplies in zip file here for version 8 and up includes .pspimage tubes
Supplies in zip file here for older psp versions has .psd tubes instead of pspimage. these can be opened in any program.
Please leave the filenames and previews of the tubes intact.
The creators have worked hard to make them.

------------------------------
From Marian
The tubes which I have used are from Monique42 and several scrap tubes. *
Have respect for the tubers and leave them in their original state.

Important!!! Please read carefully!!!
* The scrap tubes used in this tutorial are bought by me personally. You may use these scrap tubes
for this tutorial, and for your personal use. You may not offer these tubes for sale, trade, sharing,
your own tutorials, or commercial purposes. Read carefully the conditions and terms of the scrap designers,
otherwise I will have to stop writing scrap tutorials!!! Thanks for your cooperation

I am assuming you know the basics of Paint Shop Pro and where the tools can be located.
Here are some arrows and bars you can drag and drop where you need to mark or underline where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
They will stay where you put them until you close your browser.

When you are copying tubes, make sure you are in the layer that has the picture and not the watermarks layer, etc
When placing the elements, if you can't grab them with the mouse as they are so small, just click on the move tool,
make sure your cursor is somewhere inside of the canvas and use your arrow keys to move it.I like to open all my
tubes at the beginning and then close them after I use them to keep my work area clean and tidy.
The only tube you will need twice is "Achtergrond_04"
1. Open a transparent canvas of 660x 500 pixels.
Selection - select all
2. Open "Achtergrond_01" (background 1), copy (control-C) and Edit>Paste>Paste into selection.
Selections - select none.
3. Open "Achtergrond_02", copy and paste as a new layer (Control-L).
Move these to left, see my example.
4. Open the tube, "Lace", copy and paste as a new layer. Move it into place along the right edge of
"achtergrond 02" as shown then pull this layer in your layer palette under the Achtergrond_02 layer
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5.

Repeat with h -1 and V -1.

Select your top layer in the layer palette
5. Open "Achtergrond_03", copy and paste as a new layer.
Move these to the left, see my example.
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80,   Blur 5.
Repeat with h -1 and V -1.
6. Open your tube, "band" copy and paste as a new layer.,
Move it into place, as shown.
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5.
Repeat with h -1 and V -1.

7. Open "Achtergrond_04". Copy and paste as a new layer. It will paste into the middle, leave it there for now.
8. Open your tube "frame", copy and paste as a new layer. Move it into position along the lace edge and
move the background 4 layer along with it so it's behind and not showing around the edges of the frame.
Make sure you are in the frame layer, 3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 15.
*note that the blur has changed to 15

Repeat with h -1 and V -1.
9. Open your tube "Tubed_by_monique 42_2513" (the children),
go to Image>Resize and Resize it to 70% Bicubic

Copy and paste as a new layer. Move it into the frame,
so that the little girl comes against the lower inside edge of the frame and almost to
the right inside edge, and the suitcase of the little boy lies just outside the frame.
Layers - Duplicate
Filter-FM Tile tools - Blend Emboss at default settings
-1, -1, .250, 64, and the bottom 3 at 0.938

10. Open your tube "Haakje" (hook), copy and paste as a new layer. Move this to the top left
so that the hook is just at the top edge and just inside the golden frayed part.
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 15.
Repeat with h -1 and V -1.
11. Open your tube "label", copy and paste as a new layer,
Move it so that the round part of the bracket falls exactly in the little hole of the label.
The same drop shadow as above
12. Open your tube "labelknopp" (wood bead), copy and paste as a new layer.
Move it onto your label right on top of the hole.
13. Open your tube, "strik" (bow), copy and paste as a new layer,
move it to to the right on your frame, see my example.
Adjust - sharpen - unsharp mask Radius 1, strength 64, clipping 4

3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5.
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
14 Open your tube, "Deco_Element" - copy and paste as a new layer.
Move it to the right, above the lace, as shown.
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5. Do not repeat it this time.
15. Open your tube, "Schild" (sign), copy and paste as a new layer, place it as shown.
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5.
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
16. Open your tube, "nagels" (nails), copy and paste as a new layer,
move these so that they fall exactly in the openings of the sign.

17. Make sure all of the tubes are placed where you want them.
Right click in layer palette and flatten image.
You can close all of the tubes except for "achterground_04".
Don't close your working canvas! LOL
18. Image>Add borders 15 pixels, white,

select with the magic wand, tolerance on 0.

Open the "achtergrond_04" tube, delete the watermark layer, click on pattern
in your material palette and find this pattern (it will be at the top). Set at Angle 0, scale 100.

With your flood fill tool, fill selection with this pattern.
3D-effect - drop shadow H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5.
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
19. Keep it selected
3D-effects - Inner bevel with the following settings
Bevel 5, width 4, 20, 2, -30, 9, 315, 37, 68

20. With a nice handwriting font and your text tool, type the words "Life Journey" on the label.
I used the font SlashHmkBold, size 15 and the color #382F20 which is a faded black, as a vector layer.
In the material palette, change the foregound to none and make the background color the one I said above.
I typed each word separately on two separate layers so I could move them around independently of each other.
After I typed a word and place it, I right clicked in the layer palette and converted to raster layer.
I've provided the text in psd format if you want to use mine. PSDs can be opened in PSP
and will retain the separate layers on transparent background.
21. Reduce size if you want to, using Resample using Smart Size as the setting.
If needed, go to Adjust>Sharpness>Unsharp Mask at the settings 1-64-4
Watermark and save. Don't forget to optimize. I usually optimize at about 20.(File>Export>Jpeg Optimizer)
l hope you had fun!

Webpage Design Information
This webpage background was made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away but her tutorials just came back online, thanks to PIRCNet.
You can find the tutorial
here.

The font I used for the text on the buttons is BrockScript
The font I used for "Translated from Marian's PSP-Lessen" is Arnold Boecklin
The font I used for the "Life's Journey" tutorial header is SlashHmkBold.

Click on the font name to download the font.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact, usually the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's site

This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links to her new pages but the presets are still on this page for download.
