here for older versions if the other ones don't work for
you. These are in psd format.
Supplies include tubes, patterns, and scrap kit.

From Marian
The tubes I have supplied are from
Gerry (the woman in the original tag)
and
Chickster Designz Tubes (the alternate woman-see below, art by
Ana Rasha)
The use of the scrap tubes in this tutorial is allowed by the
designer,
Lynn Griffin (Lien Griffin)
www.digital-scrap-boutique.com
Please read the TOU, included in the zipfile.
Have respect for the tubers and leave them in their original
state.
From Marian: Important!!! Please read carefully!!!
* The scrap tubes used in this tutorial are bought by me
personally.
You may use these scrap tubes for this tutorial, and for your
personal use.
You may not offer these tubes for sale, trade, sharing, your own
tutorials, or commercial purposes.
Read carefully the conditions and term or the scrap designers,
otherwise I will have to stop writing scrap tutorials!!!
Thanks for your cooperation.

I am assuming you know the basics of Paint Shop Pro and where
the tools can be located. |
Here are some arrows and bars you can drag and drop where you need to mark or underline where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
They will stay where you put them until you close your browser.

Here's a small version of the tag that you can drag with you for reference
 |
Preparation
Open your tubes, patterns and scrap pieces, duplicate them (shift-D) and close the originals.
I always open all of my tubes and close as I use them
None of the tubes are used more than once so you can close them all after using.
Drag the smaller example just above with you for reference as you work. |
Step 1
Open a transparent canvas 700x500 pixels.
Selections>Select all (control-A) |
Step 2
Activate the tube "LGRIF_sense_of_wonder_paper_20",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste into selection (control-shift-L).

Deselect |
Step 3
Activate the tube "lg_because_you_are_beautiful_paper_25",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move this against the right side. I clicked on layer once then moved
with the arrow keys to make sure the top and bottom stayed at the edges.

Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H -1 and V -1, Opacity 50, Blur 5
(you won't see a huge difference here, it's subtle)
 |
Step 4
Activate tube "LGRIF_sense_of_wonder_ribbon_02",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move this to the bottom
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H 1 and V 1, Opacity 70, Blur 5
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
 |
Step 5
Layers>Duplicate
Image>Rotate>Free rotate, 90 degrees left.

move this against the left side, and pull up so it covers the complete side
 |
Step 6
Activate tube "LGRIF_sense_of_wonder_journaling_02",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move this to the left and down somewhat, see my example.
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H 1 and V 1, Opacity 70, Blur 5
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
 |
Step 7
Activate tube "LGRIF_toscana_garden_wrapped_frame01",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move it as shown, right ribbon tip against torn paper, bottom ribbon tip almost but not quite to the bottom
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H 1 and V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 15
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
 |
Step 8
Open a new transparent canvas of 300x380 pixels.
Change foreground color to #432727 (dark reddish brown)/background color to #9f6a64 (med dusty rose)
Make the foreground a gradient, settings: Foreground-Background, Style: Linear, Angle 45, Repeats 3, inverted checked.

Fill the canvas with the gradient, using your bucket fill tool
Adjust>Blur>Gaussiaan blur set at 30
 |
Step 9
Effects>Texture Effects>Blinds, settings: 3-40-Horizontal and Light from left/top checked, color #d2b7a0 (golden tan)

 |
Step 10
Activate tube "Gerry-Lady92-19 March 2008",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move down so the face and hair are clearly seen and move to left as
the right will be partially covered by the ribbon on the frame.

Layers>Merge>Merge all |
Step 11
Copy this merged layer, and paste into your canvas as a new layer
In your layer pallet pull it under the frame layer (or Layers>Arrange>Move down).
 |
Step 12
Activate the upper layer.
Layers>Merge>Merge down. |
Step 13
Activate tube "LGRIF_sense_of_wonder_flower_11",

Move this to the bottom center of the torn paper
 |
Step 15
Activate tube "lg_vintage_bliss_bookplate_01",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move it over top of the "With Love" tag so the words are still clearly visible.
(Optional) I resized this layer with Lock Aspect Ratio and resize all layers unchecked,
by 107% in width and left the height at 100% to get the bookplate a bit wider but not taller.

Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H 1 and V 1, Opacity 70, Blur 5
Repeat with h -1 and V -1
 |
Step 16
Activate tube "lg_lovable_ornament_02",

Move these to Right, on top of the torn paper, top of scroll right at the top edge and a little out of the picture, as shown.
Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H 1 and V 1, Opacity 60, Blur 0
 |
Step 17
Activate finally the tube "LGRIF_sense_of_wonder_flower_branch_01",
Edit>Copy (control-C); Edit>Paste as new layer (control-L)
Move this down, the bottom of the branch just touching the top of the ribbon
and the flower slightly overlapping the left of the frame, as shown.
 |
Step 18
Check to make sure everything is as you want it
Layers>Merge>Merge all |
Step 19
Image>Add Borders>3 pixels white, symmetric

Select with your Magic Wand, tolerance and feather 0, contiguous checked, anti-alias inside

Fill these with supplied pattern "LGRIF_patroon".
Effects>3D Effects>Inner Bevel, settings: Bevel 1, 3-50-5-1-20-315-35-30-color white

Effects>3D Effects>Drop Shadow, settings: H 1 and V 1, Opacity 80, Blur 5
Repeat with h -1 and V -1

Deselect

You're done!
Resize if desired, watermark and save (see below for tips) |
Resizing
To resize, make sure, to retain the texture and the clarity, resize at 90% bicubic and repeat till you get close to the size you want.
At that point you can resize by pixels as usual. You will find this makes a big difference in your final result.
If you resize, use the unsharp mask or Brightness/Contrast to sharpen it a bit.
Adjust>Sharpness>Unsharp mask at Radius 1, strength 60, clipping 4.
or
Adjust>Brightness and Contrast set to Brightness of 5-contrast of 15. |
Watermark & Save
Layers>New raster layer. Add your water mark on this new layer
Layers>Merge>Merge all (flatten)
Save:
File>Export>Jpeg optimizer - compression of 20. |
l hope you had fun!

Webpage Design Information
This webpage background was made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb
DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away but her tutorials just
came back online, thanks to PIRCNet.
You can find the tutorial
here.
The font I used for all of the text on the buttons is
BrockScript
The font I used for the "With Love" tutorial header is
AlexBrush.
Click on the font name to download the font.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact,
usually the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's
site
This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links to her new pages but
the presets are still on this page for download.
For more sites to find PI Presets, take a look at my
Great Beginnings
page.
