See the original tutorial here for PSP in Spanish.

This version has all of the screenshots but no backgrounds, etc. and a smaller font.

This version is like above but has no screenshots, only a small header at the top for an example.
This will take much less paper. The settings are shown as text instead of screenshots.

They will both open in a new window and print out on standard 8½" X 11" paper

For information about which fonts, programs, etc I used to construct my pages and my headers, click here.
For this tutorial you will need:

I've done this tutorial in PI XL and PI 12
I believe it can be done in most versions.
You may have to look around for the commands but it's likely they are there.

Filters and materials needed
Mura’s Meister / Cloud / Tone, free here
FM Tile Tools /
Blend Emboss, free here (it's a trial version but blend emboss is one that keeps working)
Virtual Photographer, free here
Video Rave / Picture Chopper, free here (part of Harry's Filters)
Penta/Color Dot,
download it free here (scroll till you see the words "[penta's "color dot" Win・Mac]", about 2/3 of the way down)
Eye Candy 3.1/Cutout, available free here

Supplies in zip file here includes graphics, mask and tubes
and a canvas filled with gradient in case you don't want to make your own gradient.
Please leave the filenames and previews of the tubes intact.
The creators have worked hard to make them.

I am thankful to those who designed the material used in this tutorial:
Henri Peter, Suzy Sgai Tubes, Patry, brushes from Touchstone’s art, etc.

I am assuming you know the basics of PhotoImpact and where the tools can be located.
My filter windows may look different from yours as I use Filters Unlimited 2 to manage my filters.
A great program! It's Shareware and you can get it here.
Here are some arrows and bars you can drag and drop where you need to mark or underline where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
They will stay where you put them until you close your browser.

Put filters in your plugin folder
Open up your images and your tubes. Duplicate the originals, close them
and minimize the duplicates. They are not needed yet.
1. Open a new transparent image 640X480 pixels (or the gradient canvas if you're using it)
If you use the gradient canvas, skip to step 3.
2. Make foreground color #b6b9bd and background color #798287

Go to Edit>Fill, Click the gradient tab, click on the color box beside magic gradient,

in the next window change the Mode to 1, and the repeat number to 2.0. Now click on edit under the preview box.

In the next window click on 086 or one of the others in that same area to get a gradient with only 2 color boxes.
To change colors, you right click on the box and choose change color. To see the position just left click on the box.
Make one your darker color (#798287) and one your lighter color (#b6b9bd).
Put the lighter one at position 321 and your darker one at position 191.
Now click between them near the top about a 10 o'clock position to make another box
and make that your lighter color as well (#b6b9bd) and move it to position 34.

Click Add to add it to your palette if you want it to use again another time.
Click ok, in the next window click ok, and in the next window, make sure the arrow is pointing down
(even though the gradient is diagonal, it's made on the diagonal and needs to go straight down) and click ok.
Your canvas will be filled with the gradient.

just inside the narrow white edge. Duplicate it twice, place one in the middle and one on the right
at the narrow white edge again. Arrange so there is a small vertical gap between each one.
They will be hard to grab so it's easier just to make sure you are in that layer,
click on your move tool and use your arrow keys to move them in place.
In the layer palette, drag these layers below the freedom text layer and the flora layer
and check to make sure there is a small gap between the three of them. (Compare with the finished tag)

(Adjust (In PI 12 it's Photo)>Sharpen>Unsharp Mask) if needed after resizing. Set unsharp mask at 1/64/4.
25. IMPORTANT: in new layer, with a small, legible font place the copyright to the artist:
©Henri Peter - www.henripeter.com. I've included the copyright file in psd format for you to use if you like.
(copyright symbol is Alt-0169, hold down the alt key and type 0169 in the number pad while
holding it down. When you let go of the Alt key, the copyright symbol will appear
Note: not all fonts include the copyright symbol. If it's not showing up, that's probably why).
26. Watermark your tag.
Merge all, save as jpg, don't forget to optimize. I usually save mine at about 80.
Your Freedom Tag is done!
l hope you had fun!

Webpage Design Information
This webpage background was made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away but her tutorials just came back online, thanks to PIRCNet.
You can find the tutorial
here.

The font I used for the text on the buttons is BrockScript
The font I used for "Translated from Miss Daisy" is Floralies.
The font I used for the "Freedom" tutorial header is EDB Indians.

Click on the font name to download the font.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact, usually the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's site

This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links to her new pages but the presets are still on this page for download.
For more sites to find PI Presets, take a look at my Great Beginnings page.
