For this tutorial you will
need: Jasc or Corel Paint Shop Pro DC Special>SpiroFX (in The New Stuff Collection) FM Tile Tools>Blend Emboss (optional) 1 tube of your choice |
| 1. Open your tube, duplicate (Shift-D) and close original. Duplicate again and minimize one. With the one you have open, resize it to 300X300, Lock aspect ratio unchecked. |
| 2. Right click in layer palette and create new raster layer. Drag it below your tube layer. Pick a pale color to coordinate and fill the background with it. Right click in layer palette, Merge all |
| 3. Effects/Image Effects/Seamless Tiling: default with transition in 100 |
| 4. Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur/Radius=30 |
| 5. Effects>DCSpecial>SpiroFX: 526/590/46/199/500/238/31/0/0 in colors that coordinate with your tube. |
| 6. Effects>Image Effects>Seamless Tiling: default with transition in 100 Filter FM Tile Tools>Blend Emboss (optional) Pattern is ready. |
| 7. Open new canvas of 1024x300. (I usually make mine 1280 wide) |
| 8. Fill with this pattern |
| 9. Back to your minimized tube. You can either use it as is or you can make it seamless vertically, depends on the tube you're using. With this one, I made it seamless vertically. Go to seamless tile, it should still be set at the default setting as before. Tiling Method to corner, Direction to Vertical, width at 50, transition at 100. Paste tube as new layer again and move to the left side. See below for other versions using a tube on the side without making it seamless Merge All |
| 10. New raster layer to place watermark. |
|
11. Your stationery strip is ready!! Watermark and save File>Export>Jpeg optimizer - compression of 20. |

Alternative versions *Note: I found when I was done the floral heart one that I didn't quite like the color of the background pattern, so I created a new raster layer, pulled it below the tube layer, filled it with a bright pink, and reduced the opacity of that layer in the layer palette to 28. Drop shadow on tube if desired. I applied a drop shadow of 1-1-50-2, with a dark grey color (looks more realistic than black). |
