Let's Get Started! |
|
FRAMED IMAGE |
1. Open a tube or
graphic, fairly square, duplicate, close original, reduce
duplicate in size to about 375 at tallest point.
Pick 2 complementary shades from it, one pale and one darker of
the same color.
I chose #c7e7c3, a pale green, and #397131 for
the dark shade.
Open gold gradient tile and minimize. Create new
transparent canvas 400X400, copy tube and paste as new layer in the
canvas.
 |
|
2. Create new raster
layer, pull to bottom in layer palette and flood fill with the
pale color you chose. |
3 Making sure you are
on the tube layer, apply Drop Shadow, setting: v&h 2; opacity 100;
blur 4; color black;
then repeat with -2 for v&h. Merge all.
 |
|
4.
Make the Quilted Tile from
this tutorial
(it will open in a new window, it's a very quick and easy
tutorial). Minimize.
 |
5. Select a small
piece that will look nice tiled, and copy, paste as new image,
go to Effects>Simple>Quick Tile, minimize.
 |
|
6. Change foreground
color to pattern picked from tube, angle 0, scale 100. |
7. Add border, 10,
color other than what's in picture, select with Magic Wand, then flood fill with pattern.
Leave selected.
Effects>3D Effects>Inner bevel: bevel 2, width, 10, smoothness
40, depth 2, ambience 0, shininess 0,
angle 315, intensity 50,
elevation 30, color white. Do not deselect.
|
|
8.
Selection>Invert; Effects>3D Effects>Cutout, v&h2, op 100, blur
20, color black. Repeat with v&h set at -2, select, none
 |
|
10.
Add border, 10 pixels, select with Magic Wand, flood fill with color you filled canvas
with, Inner Bevel as before. Deselect.

|
|
11
Change foreground pattern to your quilted tile pattern. Add border 10,
select with Magic Wand,
flood fill with the pattern, angle 0,
scale 25.
Inner Bevel as before, then Cutout v&h 2, op 65, blur 2.5,
black; repeat w v&h -2.

12
Change foreground pattern to the gold gradient you have open,
angle 1, scale 100.
Add border 5, select with Magic Wand, flood fill with gold
gradient, Inner Bevel as before.
Then Effects>3D Effects>Outer Bevel, bevel 2,
5-40-2-0-0-315-50-30, color white. Deselect.
Reduce size to about 350-400 at it's tallest, add watermark,
done with this part. A good time to save.

HEADER |
|
13 Open new canvas
1024 X height of your frame minus 50. Flood fill with the pale
color you picked, merge all. |
14 Now add borders as
with the frame.
Border one: Add border, 10, Pattern fill, angle 0, scale 100;
Inner Bevel: bevel 2, 10-40-2-0-0-315-50-30,
Selection>Invert; then Cutout 2-2-65-2.5, then repeat cutout
with -2 for v&h, deselect.
Border 2: add border 10, fill w pale color, Inner Bevel as
above, deselect.
Border 3: add border 10, fill with quilt tile pattern, angle 0,
scale 100, Inner Bevel as above;
then Cutout at 2-2-65-2.5, repeat w v&h at -2, deselect.
Border 4: add border 5, fill w gold gradient, angle 0, scale
100, Inner Bevel as above,
then Cutout 2-2-65-1, repeat w v&h at -2, finished.
Now resize, all layers, make the width 1024 again. Sharpen if
needed. Deselect. Save.
 |
15. Now copy framed
image and paste as new layer onto header. Resize this layer as
necessary.
You can either make it line up at top and bottom, or make it a
bit smaller. See examples.
The second one, I resized to 93%, resize all layers unchecked.
When I resized, sharpening didn't look right but I wanted more
clarity so I went to
Adjust>Automatic Contrast Enhancement, and set it at Neutral,
Mild, and Bold, see screenshot below.
These samples are smaller than your result, I resized them as
samples for this page.
You're done! Watermark and save as a jpg.

Create new canvas
200X200, flood fill with either of the colors you chose at the
beginning.
Go to Effects>Fantastic Machines>Paint Engine, and apply the
Cracks preset.
In case you don't have the preset, see screenshot for the
settings.
Make sure the wrap edges box is checked to make the tile
seamless.

ASSEMBLE IN LETTER
CREATOR |
|
1
Make sure Show Sample Text is checked at the bottom of the
window.
Click on the header tab, insert the header you made; click on
Center.
2 Click on the Body tab, click on Image, and browse to the tile
you made. Now click on "Tile" to tile the image.
3 Choose a font and font size. I recommend not going below 18
for most fonts as they end up too small to read.
4 Choose a text color and link color. Please be very careful
that you don't pick a
shade or color too close to the background or it will be hard to
read. Pick a signature color as well.
5 Set the margins: set the top margin to 10, but don't change
the left or right margin
(in this case, not true in most cases
but header is large).
6 Click on the Footer tab, in the footer, it's good to put the
name of your font, credit the artist or tube maker
if you know that information and link to them if they have a
website (to link, just select the text, click on the
link icon that's just above the footer edit window, it's the one on
the right.
When the little window opens, put the address in
there).
Highlight what you typed and click on Center, then pick the font
you used for the body of the stationery.
You don't need to change the color, the program does that
automatically for you to match the text and link colors
you chose for the stationery (to see that, scroll down in the
sample text to the footer and you will see that it's changed).
7 Click on the 3D Effects tab, and pick an animation you like
for all of the categories there.
8 Click on the Finish tab and name your stationery in Letter
Name.
I add my initials to it so it's unique and won't get
overwritten.
In Collection Name, pick a folder that you would like the
stationery to install to.
I name mine Ellie's Treasures Christmas, Ellie's Treasures Floral,
etc. For Type, pick Letter.
In the Text box, I have the copyright symbol and my company name.
For the copyright symbol, hold down the alt key
while on the number pad you type in 0169, let go of the alt key and
the copyright symbol will be there.
In the little window below that, you can choose Email in the
dropdown menu and add your email address
to the window next to
it, or you can leave it at URL and put your website address in there.
Click on Save Project and then click on Add to Incredimail. You're
done! |

Some other samples - these samples are smaller than your result,
I resized them as samples for this page.

For this one, I resized the framed graphic to 93%, resize all layers unchecked.
