I am assuming you know the basics of Paint Shop Pro and where
the tools can be located.
This is an extremely easy tutorial and can be done by beginners. |
Here are some arrows and bars you can drag and drop
where you need to mark or underline where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
They will stay where you put them until you close your browser.

You can also drag this example with you
 |
I would suggest saving the tag at the top of my tut and keeping it open while you work to refer to for placement or drag the one above.
Open your tubes, duplicate (Shift-D), and close the originals. Open your masks in PSP. Open the font(s) if you don't want to install it. |
Let's Start
Open template, duplicate and close original, delete the credits,
Fill bottom layer, raster 1, with white so you can see what you're doing better
Masked background: Open paper 1, in template highlight raster 1 and add new layer, select all, paste paper into selection
Apply mask, merge group, resize mask layer 110%.
Highlight black rectangle layer, select all-float-defloat, paste paper 6 as new layer, invert selection, delete, deselect.
Highlight layer light pink rectangle, select all-float-defloat, paste paper 3 as new layer, invert, delete, deselect.
Effects>Filters Unlimited 2>ICNet>Paper Textures>Striped paper, fine
Highlight layer Pink shape 2: select all, float, defloat, expand by 2, fill with color #da4567 (it has a thin white layer around it, this will delete it).
Effects>Filters Unlimited 2>ICNet>Paper textures>Wallpaper, fine; then Filters Unlimited 2>ICNet>Edges, Square>Square Edge 12, deselect
Highlight layer Pink shape 1: select all, float, defloat. Fill with color #da4567,
Filters Unlimited 2>ICNet>Paper textures>Wallpaper, fine; then Filters Unlimited 2>ICNet>Edges, Square>Square Edge 12, deselect.
Mirror, then move back into same position.
Highlight layer Bright Pink Shapes, Fill with color #da4567, select all-float-defloat,
Effects>Filters Unlimited 2>ICNet>Paper Textures>Striped paper, fine
Highlight Black Ovals layer, select all-float-defloat, open paper 9, resize to 65%, paste as new layer over ovals,
move a tiny bit to right to make sure both ovals are covered, invert, delete, deselect.
Highlight pink small circles, select all, float, defloat, make sure paper 6 is still open,
in material palette, foreground, pick pattern, find paper 6 in the patterns, angle 0, scale 35%, fill the circles. Deselect.
Highlight small circles (the black one), select all, float, defloat, make sure paper 9 is still open,
in material palette, foreground, pick pattern, find paper 6 in the patterns, angle 0, scale 35%, fill the circles. Deselect.
Highlight word art back layer, select all, float, defloat, fill with color #a32341, deselect.
Highlight dotted outlines layer, Adjust>Color Balance>Manual Color Correction, source black, target #da4567 (same color you filled squares with).
Highlight shopping WA layer, 3D effects>Inner Bevel, settings: bevel 12, 5/40/37/-72/7/white/198/86/88 (see ss)

Now add some elements:
From GirlyGirl kit:
Corset3, resize 50%X2, then 65%, paste as new layer, free rotate left 20°
Lipstick1, Bag2, both resized 50%X2, then 65%, paste,
Heart charm 2, resized 50%X2 (I actually did this one at 90% 13X for better texture, it's up to you), paste, and position
Border 3, resize 50%, paste, place over bottom pink rectangle, position and cut off excess with selection tool,
paste again and place that one over top pink rectangle and again cut off excess.
Bow 5, resized 50%, paste and position
Bow 10, resized 50% 2X then 75% once, mirror, paste and position, move pink shape 2 left a bit so bow fits as shown between both pink shapes
From All About the Girls kit:
Element 15 (shoes), resize 50% 3X, paste and position by tubes feet
Element 12, shopping spree sign, resize 50% 3X, paste and position as shown
Element 10 (shoe shopping sign), resize 50% 3X, paste and position
Element 5 (phone), resize 50% 3X, then 75% once, paste and position
Element 3 (perfume bottle), resize 50% 3X (I actually did this one 75% 8X, it's up to you), paste and position
Drag small circles layer to top so scrap elements aren't covering them.
Copy and paste your tube and position
Unsharp mask all elements that you resized and look like it needs it: 2/40/4
Drop shadow all elements:
3/3/50/5/black for most,
2/2/50/5/black for pink shapes 1 & 2 and small bow 10,
Don't drop shadow the shoe shopping element
Add your name or other text:
Open paper 9 from GirlyGirl kit, resize 65%, in material palette for background color,
pick pattern and pick Paper 9 resized, angle 0, scale 50%, foreground color is #7d0521
Font is Shifty Chica size 120, stroke 2, type your text.
Drop shadow 2/2/50/2/black, apply Unsharp Mask to text at 2/40/4.
You're done. Save as jpg or delete white background and save as a transparent png.
l hope you had fun!

Webpage Design Information
The lacy webpage background was
made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away and her site is gone.
The font I used for all of the text on the buttons is
BrockScript
The font I used for the "I Like to Shop" tutorial header is
Shifty
Chica.
Fill for this header is
Lacarolita's
Scrapkit
GirlyGirl, paper 9.
Click on the font names to download the fonts.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact, usually
the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's site
This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links
to her new pages but the presets are still on this page for download.
For more sites to find PI
Presets, take a look at my
Great Beginnings
page.
