Making a Watermark |
|
 |
For this tutorial you will need:
Adobe Photoshop - available for purchase
here
I am assuming you know the basics of Photoshop and where
the tools can be located. |
|
Instructions
|
Screenshots |
1. open new canvas,
transparent, 200 X 50
|
 |
2. Go to text tool
,
pick a fat font, I used ATNadianne-Bold, 9 pts, color white,
type the name you want to use, use the move tool
to
center it. It will be hard to see but if you look closely, you
will see it.
Go to Layer>Layer Style>Drop Shadow and apply these settings.
Blend mode: Multiply, Black
Opacity 100%
Angle 120, Use global light checked
Distance 3 px
Spread 12%
Size: 3 px
Contour: first thumbnail
Antialiased unchecked
Noise 0%
Layer knocks out drop shadow checked
Do not merge.
|
 |
3. File>Save for Web,
this will save it as a transparent gif.
Now you can use it whenever you want to watermark.
When you need it, just open the gif, Select>All, Edit>Copy,
paste onto item you want to watermark, it will apply as a new
layer, now just play with the blend mode (where it says Screen
in the screen shot) in your layer palette to find the best blend
mode, normal is usually ok and so is difference, sometimes
overlay or soft light is needed, all depending on the graphic. |
