Outlook Express-self-extracting exe files           Outlook Express and Windows Vista Mail-eml files
Windows Vista Mail-using self-extracting exe files           Outlook, Outlook Express or Thunderbird zip files
Incredimail-imf files
*Important note: Windows Live Mail that you can download and use if you have Windows 7 cannot use stationery.
It is not a real email client that resides on your computer but rather resides on the web and is "Cloud-based".

Since switching to Windows 7 in November of 2011, I have no way of creating eml files, and I won't be making them any more
or creating Outlook Express self-extracting zips for my new or edited stationery as Outlook Express is not available on Win7 machines.
You will still be able to use the Outlook zip files and just unzip them to your stationery folder to use them in Outlook Express.
How to download the stationery
You have a choice of an Incredimail imf file, an Outlook Express self-extracting exe file, an eml file
which can be used in Outlook Express and Windows Vista Mail (possibly other email programs
but I can't guarantee that) or a zip file to be used for Outlook, Outlook Express or Thunderbird.
For all but the eml files, just left click and most browsers will download at that point.
If you can't get the save window when you left click, then right click and "Save Target As".
To download the eml stationery, you must right click and save target,
if you left click it will open in a new window showing a full size preview of the stationery.
Outlook Express - self extracting exe files or using the Outlook Zip files for OE
Click on the link for the zip file. It will extract an exe file, this is a self-extracting archive.
Once downloaded, unzip the file and just double click on the exe file,
it will unzip into the correct stationery folder for Outlook Express.
You will find it in a folder that begins with ElliesTreasures or ET.
To preview the OE stationery, click on the preview under the Outlook Express thumbnail for each.
It will open into a new window. Some may take a few seconds to show the transitions so be patient!
I will only make previews for the scripted stationery, no preview means it doesn't move, the stationery is stationary! LOL
This is very important. For the correct formatting to be used, you must use this method of selecting stationery:
In Outlook Express, go to Message>New Message Using>Select Stationery and pick your stationery to use.
If you use the other method, Create Mail>Select Stationery, there is a good chance the formatting will be messed up.
To use the stationery, once you select it, highlight "Text Here" and type over top of it, to get your typing in the right spot.
You need to start in the right spot to get the right font and font color and formatting.

If you're using the zip files meant for Outlook, just unzip them to your stationery folder and they will be available for  use as before
It's normally here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\
These can be sorted into subfolders by category if you like and just browse to the right folder in Outlook Express.
Outlook Express or Windows Vista Mail - Using EML format stationery
To download the EML format file, right click on the link and click on "Save Target As"
If you do your regular left mouse button click on it, it will just open in a new window,
showing you a full size preview of the stationery.

To use eml format stationery, just double click on it and it will open in your
default email program as a new message, in most cases Outlook Express or Windows Mail.
Highlight "Text Here" and type over top of it, to get your typing in the right spot.
You need to start in the right spot to get the right font and font color and formatting.
Eml format stationery does not show up in your preview pane of OE or Windows Mail.
What I do so I know what it looks like is I save a picture of the stationery (for instance my thumbnails
where I show what each one looks like) in the same folder so I can browse through the pictures to pick a stationery.
There is one program that will allow you to view all of your eml files, it's not freeware unfortunately.
It's called MSGViewer Pro and you can find it here: http://www.encryptomatic.com/msgviewer/
Don't get the Lite version as it doesn't view eml files.
Windows Vista Mail - Using the self-extracting exe files
Use either the eml format stationery or use this tip to get your regular Outlook Express stationery to show up in Windows Mail.
Go to the stationery folder at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery"
Right click on this "Stationery" folder and select "Create Shortcut"
Copy the shortcut and paste it into "C:\Users\(Users folder here)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery"
Now when you go to select Stationery from Windows Mail, you can see the shortcut to the Stationery folder. Left clicking on it doesn't work, you must right click on it. A little menu will open, select "Open". The next time you select a stationery, if you haven't gone back to the old folder, it should reopen in that folder without having to right click to get to it. This tip will come in handy if you use a lot of stationery from sites like mine that install themselves to the common stationery folder for OE. I hope this helps!
Outlook or Thunderbird zip files
OUTLOOK
Unzip stationery files (htm and picture files, etc) in this location
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Stationery
They can't go in subfolders, Outlook only reads the main folder

(There is another similar folder here: C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Stationery
This stationery doesn't show up on Outlook)

It should now show up in Outlook
Remember to change font back to the right one as it will be the default one (probably Times New Roman)
Now go to Actions>New Mail Message Using>More Stationery and you'll find it in the list

THUNDERBIRD - requires Stationery addon
It's best to go to this site within Thunderbird and install, otherwise it won't install right.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/stationery/

Open Thunderbird, click on Addons Manager tab and type "stationery" in search pane,
click on the addon Stationery, as of this writing it's v0.7.7 (November 2011)
Click on install and it will install. Restart and it will be available
You can now go to drop down arrow beside Write button and click on More Stationery.
From here you can browse to your Outlook Stationery folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\Stationery
or set up your own stationery folder for Thunderbird.
Find the stationery you want and click on the stationery you want.

You can use any stationery meant for Outlook or Outlook Express,
which would include an html or htm file and the pictures that go with it.

Since you browse to the folder the stationery is in, that means you can put the
stationery into subfolders if you want and sort them out by category, etc.
Incredimail - installing imf files
Left-click on the IMF link and it will install to your Incredimail Stylebox,
where you will find it in a folder that begins with Ellie's Treasures or ET.
For Incredimail users, you can check out the preview under the OE thumb for that stationery for a clearer look at the graphic,
but just remember, if you get the Incredimail version, it doesn't have the special effects that the OE stationery has.
You can also left click on the eml file, if there is one there, to open it up in a full size preview.

Webpage Design Information
This webpage background was made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away and her site is no longer online.
The font I used for all of the text on the buttons is BrockScript
Click on the font name to download the font.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact, usually the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's site

This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links to her new pages but the presets are still on this page for download.
