They will both open in a new window and print out on standard 8½" X 11" paper

For information about which fonts, programs, etc I used to construct my pages and my headers, click here.
For this tutorial you will need:
Any graphics program that allows 3rd party filters, such as the ones used here.
You can even do it in free programs that use filters, such as IrfanView.
There are instructions on their home site about adding filters to the program.

Filters and materials needed
Fantastic Machines Paint Engine, available free here
Simple filters, available free here
Mura Seamless - available free
here
(Optional) FM Tile Tools - Blend Emboss - available as a trial
here
(7 of these filters continue to work when trial is over, Blend Emboss is one of them)

My plugin windows may look different from yours as I use Filters Unlimited 2 to manage my plugins - available for purchase
here.
*****************
I am assuming you know the basics of your graphics program and where the tools can be located.
Some abbreviations I used: PSP is Paint Shop Pro, PI is PhotoImpact, PS is Photoshop, and PSE is Photoshop Elements.

This is an extremely easy tutorial and can be done by beginners.
Here are some arrows and bars you can drag and drop where you need to mark or underline where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
They will stay where you put them until you close your browser.

1. Open a graphic or tube, duplicate, close original.
If you use a tube, open a new canvas, 300  X 300 pixels, new raster layer, pull to bottom
and flood fill with a complementary color from your tube. Merge all.
If you use a graphic, resize to 300X300 with Lock Aspect Ratio unchecked.

I cropped it as I only wanted the middle colors
2. Go to Effects>Simple>Quick tile
3. Go to Effects>Mura Seamless>Shift at Random>60-255-133-254

4. Go to Effects>Mura Seamless>Shift at Random>255-16-0-0 (these are the default settings)

5. Effects>FantasticMachine Paint Engine>Impression 2 preset, wrap edges checked,

or
settings as screenshot shows, once done, save it as a new preset
Brush: .42,.6,.11,.86,.5,.00; Effect:1.70; Type: Intensity 1, Input and Line unchecked;
Length 17, Radiate 1.0, motion angle -41, Curl 2, Operation Angle -32, Curl 1, Direction channel R, Wrap Edges checked

or
open your fmmachine.ini file in C:/Windows (open it with notepad) and copy and paste this setting into it:
Setting22=impression 2;1,1,0,0,0,4,319,328,17,2,100,170,42,86,6,-5,-11,0,2,1
(you can change the setting number if you already have one at setting22), save this file before closing)

You're done! Don't forget to optimize
PSP: (File>Export>Jpeg Optimizer). I usually optimize at about 20.
PI: I usually optimize at about 80
PS and PSE: I usually save at about 8.

Webpage Design Information
This webpage background was made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away and her site is gone.
The font I used for all of the text on the buttons is BrockScript
The font I used for the "Crystal Lace Tile" tutorial header is CocktailShaker.

Click on the font name to download the font.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact, usually the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's site

This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links to her new pages but the presets are still on this page for download.
For more sites to find PI Presets, take a look at my Great Beginnings page.
