Ellie's Treasures Universal Tutorials - Origami Tiles

http://www.ellies-treasures.com/universal/origami/origami.html
This tutorial will print out on standard 8½" X 11" paper

For this tutorial you will need:
Graphics Program: Any graphics program that allows 3rd party filters, such as the ones used here.
You can even do it in free programs that use filters, such as IrfanView.
There are instructions on their home site about adding filters to the program.
Filters:
Two Moon Filters>Paper Fold and RotoBlades
Simple filters>Diamonds and Quick Tile
(Optional) FM Tile Tools>Blend Emboss
(Blend-Emboss is one of the settings that continues to work when the trial is done)
*****************
My plugin windows may look different from yours as I use Filters Unlimited 2 to manage my plugins.
Some shortcuts I use are: PSP-Paint Shop Pro; PS-Photoshop; PSE-Photoshop Elements; PI-PhotoImpact
1. Open canvas 200 X 200, pick two colors from your graphic to make gradient or use a gradient of choice, fill tile with the gradient, diagonal, from upper left to lower right
In PSP 45 degree angle, 0 repeats;
In PI pick either diagonal button
PS-PSE: apply from top left to bottom right
2. Go to Effects (Filters)>Simple>Diamonds.
3. Go to Effects (Filters)>Two Moon>PaperFold, set at default of 0-0-15-16.
4. Go to Effects (Filters)>Two Moon>RotoBlades, set at default of 53-128-128-128.
5. Go to Effect>Simple>Quick Tile.
You can either use it this way or go on to the next step if you want to lighten it.
6. Reduce opacity for a lighter effect using white or a light to medium color from your tile
In PI go to Edit>Fill, at 50% transparency
In PSP, right click in layer palette>new raster layer. Fill with fill tool, reduce opacity in layer to 50.
In PS-PSE: Layer>New>Layer, then using Paint Bucket tool, fill, go to layer palette and reduce opacity to 50%.

You can apply FM Tile Tools>Blend Emboss at default settings after lightening it, as I did here.
You're done! Don't forget to optimize
PSP: (File>Export>Jpeg Optimizer). I usually optimize at about 10.
PI: I usually optimize at about 90
PS and PSE: I usually save at about 8.
