Pixelated Tile


 
 

For this tutorial you will need:
ULead PhotoImpact - available for purchase here
or
Adobe Photoshop - available for purchase here
or
Jasc Paint Shop Pro - available for purchase here
This tutorial will work in any of these programs.

Filters needed
Fantastic Machines Paint Engine - available free here
FM Tile Tools - free trial available here
(I understand Blend-Emboss (which is what we use in this tutorial)
is one of the settings that continues to work when the trial is done)
Mock Filters - available free here

I am assuming you know the basics of your graphics program and where the tools can be located.
 


Instructions

Screenshots

1. Open canvas 300 X 300, pick a color from your graphic or of your own choosing, fill canvas with the color.
2. Go to Effects or Filter>Fantastic Machines>Paint Engine>Bloom Preset. Make sure wrap edges is checked, if you don't see much going on, play with the R, G and B until you see a white or light pattern on the preview.

 
It should look like this now.
3. Go to Effects>Mock>Mosaic and slide the setting to somewhere between 15-20 till you like what you see.
It should look like this now. You can stop here and save, or you can go on to the next step.
4. Go to Effects>FM Tile Tools>Blend Emboss at default settings
It should look like this now.
 

You're done, save as a jpg.
