samples and alternate tiles |
For this tutorial you will need:
ULead PhotoImpact, Adobe Photoshop,
Adobe Photoshop Elements, or
Jasc Paint Shop Pro
This tutorial will work in any of these programs.
Filters and Materials needed
Simple filters; Sinedot II filter
My preset for Sinedots II
(unzip and put into Sinedots II folder in your plugins folder)
My plugin windows may look different from yours as I use Filters
Unlimited 2 to manage my plugins
I am assuming you know the basics of your graphics program and where
the tools can be located.
Some abbreviations I used: PSP is Paint Shop Pro, PI is
PhotoImpact, PS is Photoshop, and PSE is Photoshop Elements. |
|
Let's get started! Very easy. |
|
1. Create a new canvas,
300 X 300 pixels
and flood fill with your chosen color. |
2.
Go to
effects (or filters) Dragonfly>Sinedot II, set as screenshot
shows
or pick the preset I have made for you

(in PS and PSE it would not work in the default screen blend
(see just above the color bar).
I used max weight and it seemed
the best of the blends available for PS and PSE).
To change the
color, just left click on the color box and a color picker will
open.
 |
3. Go to Effects (or
Filters)>Simple>Quick Tile
 |
4. Basic Step: reduce opacity for
a lighter effect
Use same color you filled original tile with
PSP: right click in layer palette>new raster layer. Fill with
fill tool and reduce opacity in layer to 50%
PI: go to Edit>Fill, at 50% transparency
PS and PSE: Layer>New>Layer, then fill with the Paint Bucket tool,
go to the layer palette and reduce opacity to
50%. Save as a jpg.
 |
|
Merge all or flatten image, watermark and you're done! |
 |

|
Instead of using
Simple Quick Tile |
using Simple Pizza
Slice
 |
using Simple Diamonds
 |
using Simple 4 Way
Average
 |
using Simple Blintz,
then Pizza Slice
 |
