This is done with Text style C
2 alternate text effect versions shown here and two done by friends.
Translated with permission from the creator, Lien at X-clusive Designz tutorial site.

See the original tutorial here for PSP in Dutch

This version has all of the screenshots but no backgrounds, etc. and a smaller font.

This version is like the printable above, but has no screenshots, only a small header at the top for an example.
This will take much less paper. The settings are shown as text instead of screenshots.
They will both open in a
new window and print out on standard 8½" X 11" paper
For information about which
fonts, programs, etc I used to construct my pages and my headers,

For this tutorial you
will need:
or

I believe it can be done in most versions of PS
or PSE.
You may have to look around for the commands but it's likely
they are there.

Sue's Styles 6, about halfway down the
page
Go
here to see how to add layer styles to Photoshop and
Photoshop Elements. It will open in a new page.
Please
leave the filenames and previews of the tubes intact.
The creators have worked hard to make them.
The
material has been prepared so that you can open it with
different versions of the program.

I am assuming you know the basics of Photoshop/Photoshop
Elements and where
the tools can be located.
My filter windows may look different from yours as I use Filters
Unlimited 2 to manage my filters.
A great program! It's Shareware and you can get it
here. |
Here are some arrows and bars you can drag and drop
where you need to mark or underline where you are. .
Just left click and drag to where you want it then let go.
They will stay where you put them until you close your browser.

Here's a small version to drag with you as you go, for reference
 |
Put the filter in your plugin folder, and either install the fonts or double click
to open the windows font viewer for each one. Leave them open and they will be available in PSP.
Put the gradient into your gradient folder. You'll need to load it into the program to use it.
Click on your gradient tool and in the gradient toolbar, click on the drop down arrow next to the gradient.
Click on the little arrow as shown and click on Load Gradients. You can then browse to where you saved it.
It will show up last on the list of thumbnails. It looks black and white and that's ok.
It will take on the colors of your foreground and background.

Open up your background image, your tubes and the fonts. Minimize all, they are not needed yet. |
1. Open a new white canvas 500X350 pixels
Make your foreground color # ffee9c and your background color #a06b41
Either use my supplied gradient or use my gradient canvas. |
2. Go to Layer>New Fill Layer>Gradient. First window don't change anything, click ok,

next window pick the Foreground-background-3repeats gradient, change angle to 38, linear.

Click ok. Your canvas will be filled. Right click in layer palette, flatten image |
3. Layer>New Layer (or click the icon above the layer palette in PSE, below it in PS). Select>Select All.
Maximize your background image. Select all (control-A), copy (control-C)
Go to your working canvas. Edit>paste into selection
It won't fill the selection so you need to move it to the upper left and then go to
Image>Resize>Scale in PSE or Edit>Transform>Scale in PS and pull it out by the box
on the bottom right and then the right middle box. It will be out of proportion but that's ok.
Pull it just a bit beyond the edges to make sure none of the background shows.
Click on the checkmark to finish it, in PSE it's on the canvas as shown, in PS it's in the toolbar.

In the layer palette, reduce opacity to 60

 |
4. Activate the lion tube. Make sure you are in the lion layer, not the background or the watermark.
Control-a to select and control-c to Copy. Go to your working canvas. Control-v to paste as new layer.
Place as shown.

In the layer palette, reduce opacity to 70
 |
5. Activate the lion cubs tube (aren't they cute??:-)). Copy

Webpage Design Information
This webpage background was
made in PhotoImpact with a tutorial by Deb DeHaven
Sadly, she passed away but her tutorials just came back online, thanks
to PIRCNet.
You can find the tutorial
here.
The font I used for the text on the buttons is
BrockScript
The font I used for "Translated from X-clusive Designz" is
Calligraphia.
The font I used for the "African Dream" tutorial header is
Sloop ScriptThree.
Click on the font name to download the font.
I use PhotoImpact to make all of my headers due to the amazing
3D text it has and the wonderful presets available free online
Most of the presets I use are either the ones that come with PhotoImpact, usually
the Gel ones,
or from Deb's PI Tutorials and More (see below) or
Carol Oyl's site
This is the address to Deb's old pages
http://www.fortunecity.com/skyscraper/millenit/1716/pitutorials/objects/presets/presets1.html
I can't find any links
to her new pages but the presets are still on this page for download.

Presets, take a look at my
Great Beginnings
